Something of a chameleon, it is a rich wine with intense fruit that somehow manages to seem light, almost weightless. Its brightness shows off the cherry and currant highlights but doesn't mask the luscious, brambly, black fruit that fills your mouth and holds your attention. It is an exceptional food wine, especially with lamb or pork. The 2011 is drinking very well now, but based on how the 2009 has developed in the bottle, we expect it to improve over the next two years and be good for another ten years.
